Bangladesh and Gambia discuss boosting agricultural trade ties

A bilateral meeting took place on Friday between Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Hasan Mahmud and Gambia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Mamadou Tangara on the sidelines of the 15th Preparatory Meeting of OIC Foreign Ministers in Banjul, Gambia.

The Foreign Minister of The Gambia expressed his deep appreciation to Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for her solidarity with the Muslim Ummah in hosting Rohingya refugees expelled from Myanmar in Bangladesh. He also thanked the Bangladesh government for its financial support in the Rohingya genocide case, according to a press release on Saturday.

Hasan congratulated the Minister of Foreign Affairs of The Gambia on chairing the 15th Preparatory Meeting of Foreign Ministers of the OIC and expressed his hope to work together to enhance cooperation in various areas of the OIC during the presidency of Gambia.

During the courtesy visit, Hasan expressed satisfaction over the existing friendly relations between the two countries and discussed with the Gambian minister the export of labor from Bangladesh to the agricultural sector and the increase in bilateral cooperation in trade and investment.
